The Immaculata Club was founded in 1944 by the Legion of Mary in Corn Market Belfast, after a year or so they moved location to Devonshire Street in the lower falls Parish of St Peters Chapel and have remained in the local area ever since
The two main sports of the Immaculata were Boxing and Soccer and still continue to be as strong as ever right up to the present day.The boxing side of the Immaculata has always had excellant young fighters from the area and a lot of them have went on to be Irish, Ulster and Co Antrim champions.Over the years the boxers from the Immaculata have represented Ireland all over the world.
The soccer team is one of the oldest members of the Down & Connor Football League which is one of the oldest if not the eldest youth football leagues in Ireland. It is also one of the founders of The South Belfast Boys League.Over the years the Immaculata.F.C. Youth have had teams in various leagues and competitions from under 9's right through to under 18's

The clubs youth teams have played in competitions throughout the World and British isles countries like Canada,England,Scotland,Wales, and the Republic of Ireland
We have had boys represent Northern Ireland in schoolboy youth teams, and also Amatuer Internationals
A number of our lads have had trails with the likes of Sunderland,Torquay,Everton,Liverpool,Chelsea and Middlesbourgh
Our senior teams throughout the years have also had success in differant leagues and Cups the senior team played in the old Lisburn League for a number of years ,and then moved into the Dunmurray League (now called the Belfast & District League)were they had great success winning the League and Nelson Cup on many occassions. But their greatest success came back in 1994 when they reach the final of the prestigous Junior Shield beating a very strong physical side in Temple Rangers. Two years later they reach the final of the Junior Shield again being narrowly defeated 2-1 and somewhat unluckly by a good Grove United team. This should have been the stepping stone for their inculsion into the Amatuer League ranks but sadly it was not to be.The last few years have been a building process for The Mac, but now we have a very good young side(average age 23) who have the talent and ability to be around for a long time and have a huge impact on the highly Prestigious Junior competitions. This year with a young inexperienced side The Immaculata reached the Quarterfinal of the Junior Shield, and have also reached the final Of the Nelson Cup and they have finished runners up in their league, not a bad season for a young team that have only been playing together the last year or more. The future is looking rosy for the Mac in the next few years, and hopefully we can go a step or 2 further in all the competitions. We as a club are looking forward to the future of the Immaculata.F.C. with great enthusiasm and excitement, we will strive to make The Immaculata what it should have been a long time ago one of the top Junior sides in Northern Ireland |
